MAKE YOUR OWN GLASS SUNCATCHER Half day workshop 4 hours approx.
Learn to make a stained glass suncatcher or hanging using the copper-foiling method.
You will be able to choose from a range of patterns available that are suitable for absolute beginners.
You will learn to cut glass, grind the edges and foil the pieces before soldering the project together using a soldering iron, then the piece will be cleaned and polished with an optional patina finish to change the colour of the solder. Choice of hanging ribbon or clear fishing line.
Please note this workshop uses sharp glass, chemicals such as flux and patina as well as lead. It is NOT suitable for children under 16 years of age.
Choose from a variety of patterns to create a copper-foiled hanging suncatcher.
Light refreshments provided and break included.
All glass, tools, equipment and protective gear are provided.
Please wear close-toed shoes, sensible clothing (long sleeves preferred), tie up long hair (essential when using electric glass grinder), bring reading glasses if worn.
Maximum group size is 4 people.
No previous glass experience is necessary.
